Meet the Team at Willow River Chiropractic

Dr. Tanner Tryggestad
Chiropractic wasn’t on Dr. Tanner’s radar as a possible career until he experienced the benefits of care for himself. While playing collegiate hockey at Concordia University of Wisconsin in Madison, he began experiencing low back and shoulder pain. When he decided it was time to take care of himself, he tried physical therapy—to no avail.
The hockey team physician was a chiropractor, so Dr. Tanner tried him next, and the results were amazing. Intrigued, he began to dive in and learn as much as he could, and even shadowed some chiropractors. Learning that chiropractic care is about much more than just “cracking backs,” he felt this was a career that would allow him to serve people in a meaningful way.
Willow River Chiropractic has been a trusted fixture in the community since 2013, and Dr. Tanner took over the reins in 2023 with the goal of serving entire families—babies and kids, moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas—with root-cause care focused on creating optimal wellness for life.
Dr. Tanner genuinely cares about every person we see, and he will give you honest recommendations based on your specific situation. Building trust so that our patients feel comfortable sharing their hopes and dreams with us is the foundation of our approach to care.
When he’s not at work, Dr. Tanner and the whole family—wife Amy, sons J.J. and Mack, daughter Quinn and chocolate lab Rigsby—can often be found in the hockey rink. They also love outdoor time on the lake and Friday night movie nights.
Erica Malotke, Office Manager
I’m Erica Malotke, and I’ve proudly served as the office manager at Willow River Chiropractic since the fall of 2021. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Women’s Health, Family Health, and Wellness from Luther College, coupled with a background in Medical Coding, I bring a blend of expertise to our practice.
Originally from Woodbury, MN, my journey led me to New Richmond where my husband Nick and I put down roots after tying the knot in 2010. Our family blossomed with the arrival of twin daughters, Rosalie and Lexi, in 2013, followed by our son Aiden in 2014. For eight years, I dedicated myself to being a stay-at-home mom.
Beyond the office, I find joy in playing the piano and nurturing both our flower beds and vegetable garden. What I enjoy most about working here at Willow River Chiropractic is the warm family-friendly atmosphere.
